About Kingsclere PAYC

Kingsclere Performing Arts and Youth Centre CIC

What is The PAYC?

When 24 Swan Street was put up for sale by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in early September 2021, under the threat of losing it to private developers, the long term tenants and community representatives took action and formed The Kingsclere Performing Arts and Youth Centre CIC (The PAYC).

The PAYC is a Community Interest Company (CIC) established to take over, maintain, manage and improve 24 Swan Street for the long-term tenants and for the foreseeable future of the building as an asset of community value.

The PAYC is poised to take over as the community landlord organisation and plans to fulfill the potential of 24 Swan Street, by increasing opportunities for local businesses, charities and organisations, with a strong focus on sustainability and the social inclusion and well-being of young people, and indeed the wider community of Kingsclere.
